The Dimmitt Bobcats competed at the Vega basketball tournament this past weekend and came in with one win and two losses.

Bobcats v Fritch11/30 The Bobcats lost their first game against Sanford-Fritch, 59-49.

The Bobcats hit 18 of 63 2-point shots, three of 15 3-pointers, four of 13 free throws, had 22 offensive rebounds, 15 defensive rebounds, seven assists, nine deflections, 17 steals, 18 turnovers and 15 fouls.

Top shots for Dimmitt were Frankie Cortez with 13 points, two offensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds, four assists, three deflections, five steals and four fouls; and Kaden Carpio, 12 points, two offensive and defensive rebounds, one steal and three fouls.

Contributing shooting were Isaiah Ramirez, six points, one offensive and defensive rebound, one deflection and three fouls; Mario Lopez, six points, four offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds, one assist, two deflections, seven steals and two fouls; Tony Salazar, five points, three offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds, two deflections, two steals and one foul; Gaquorie Chatham, four points, three offensive rebounds, one deflection, one steal and one foul; and Enrique Holguin, three points, two offensive and defensive rebounds.

Daegan Robertson had one defensive rebound and one steal; and Josiah Torres, one defensive rebound and one foul.

Bobcats v Happy 12/01 The Bobcats lost their second game to Happy, 51-22.

The Bobcats shot seven of 31 2-pointers, two of 24 3-pointers, two of six free throws, had 18 offensive rebounds, 17 defensive rebounds, six assists, 15 deflections, 12 steals, three blocks, 20 turnovers and five fouls.

Bobcats v Groom 12/02 The Bobcats beat Groom in the third game, 37-23.

The Bobcats shot 10 of 25 2-pointers, three of 19 3-pointers, eight of 14 free throws, had 11 offensive rebounds, 16 defensive rebounds, six assists, 12 deflections, 13 steals, three blocks, 11 turnovers and eight fouls.

Top shots for Dimmitt were Tony Salazar with nine points, one offensive and defensive rebound, two deflections, two steals and one foul; and Kaden Carpio, nine points, two offensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds, two assists, three defl ections and two steals.
