Bobcats defeat Owls, 10-4

The Dimmitt Bobcats baseball team defeated the Hale Center Owls, 10-4.

Neither team scored a run in the first two innings, but the Bobcats came through with three hits in both the third and fourth innings to take the lead 6-0.

The Owls came in with two runs in the fifth, leaving them still trailing 6-2 going into the sixth. Dimmitt came in with four more runs in the seventh inning, with the Owls only gaining two more runs on the scoreboard, giving the Bobcats a solid win at 10-4.

Winning pitcher was Jose Medina who pitched 64 pitches in four innings, coming in with seven strikeouts, one walk and giving up two hits. Edwin Macias pitch 2.2 innings for 52 pitches, one strikeout, four walks, gave up five hits for four runs and three errors.

Bobcats stats: Daegan Robertson had five at bats, one run, two hits and one strikeout; Jaden Rodriguez, four at bats, two runs, one hit and two strikeouts; Jose Medina, five at bats, three runs, three hits and two runs batted in; Juan Anima, four at bats, two runs, two hits and one run batted in; GaQuorie Chatham, four at bats, one walk and two strike outs; Santiago Chavez, one at bat; Edwin Macias, three at bats, one run, two hits, four runs batted in and one walk; Oscar Rodriguez, three at bats; Jorge Pena, three at bats, one run, one hit and one walk; and Samuel Gonzales, one at bat and one walk.

The Bobcats will travel to the Tulia Tournament on Feb. 23-25 and their next regular game is against Floydada on Feb. 27, followed by the Floyada Tournament on March 2-3.
