Bobcats defeat Wildcats, 23-1

The Dimmitt Bobcats had a strong contact performance with a big away win over the River Road Wildcats, 23-1 last Thursday.The team came in with 15 hits and accumulated 10 walks.

Bobcats Tony Salazar was the winning pitcher with 5.0 innings, with 71 pitches, 49 strikes and seven strike outs, giving up four hits, one run and one walk.

The Bobcats got on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning after Mario Lopez doubled, and Ga’quorie Chatham singled, each scoring one run.

In the second inning, the Bobcats scored six runs on three hits, with a passed ball and error scoring two runs. Lopez tripled, scoring four runs.

The third inning saw the Bobcats continuing to add points, with Juan Anima singling, Kaden Carpio struck by a pitch and Lopez walked, each scoring one run.

The Bobcats scored 11 runs on six hits in the top of the fourth. Anima tripled; scoring one run, and later singled, scoring one run; Jaden Rodriguez singled, scoring one run; Salazar singled, scoring two runs, a wild pitch scored one run; Chatham drew a walk scoring one run; Edwin Macias drew a walk, scoring one run; and Jorge Pena tripled, scoring two runs, and wild pitch scored one run.

Tony Salazar had three at bats, three runs, one hit, two RBIs, two walks, one strikeout and stole two bases; Jadrian Herrera, two at bats, two runs and three walks; Kaden Carpio, three at bats, two runs, one hit, one RBI and one strikeout; Mario Lopez, three at bats, three runs, two hits, four RBIs and one walk; Ga’quorie Chatham, four at bats, one run, two hits, two RBIs one walk and two strikeouts; Edwin Macias, four at bats, four runs, two hits, one walk and one strikeout; Juan Anima, five at bats, four runs, four hits, three RBIs and one strikeout; Jorge Pina, three at bats, three runs, two hits, two RBIs and two walks; and Jaiden Rodriguez, four at bats, one run, one hit, one RBI and two strikeouts.
