The Dimmitt Bobcats suffered a tough loss to the Dumas Demons, 89-87, in a nailbiter last Monday.

The first quarter was back and forth between the two teams, with both offenses firing away and hitting their mark and putting Dumas up by a single point going into the second quarter.

Dimmitt offense hit even stronger in the second quarter, out-shooting Dumas by 15 points and giving them the lead, 60-46, as the first half came to an end.

Both Dumas and Dimmitt hit for 18 points in the third quarter, with the Bobcats maintaining their lead, 7864. The final quarter saw Dumas pick up their offensive pace, shooting for 25 points, while the Bobcats hit for nine points, and giving Dumas the win by two points, 89-87.

Dimmitt shot for 33-of-64 fields with 7-of-19 threepoint shots, 14-of-21 free throws, had 12 assists, 23 steals, 28 turnovers and 21 fouls.

Top shooters for the Bobcats were Ivan Moreno with 34 points two offensive and defensive rebounds, two assists, five steals and two fouls; CJ Willey, 19 points, four offensive rebounds three defensive rebounds, one assist, one steals and four fouls; Emiliano Peralta, 13 points, three offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds, three assists, eight steals and one fouls; and David Fuentes, 10 points, one offensive and defensive rebounds, two assists, four steals and five fouls.

Contributing shooters were Devnin Enrique, six points, one assist, one steals and four fouls; Daunte Perez, two points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, one assist, two steals and one foul; William VanZee, two points and two fouls; and Mario Lopez, one point, one offensive rebound and five defensive rebounds.

Franking Cortex came in with two defensive rebounds and one foul; and Ariel Perez, one defensive rebound, one steal and one foul.
