The Dimmitt Bobcats playoff run came to an end last Thursday, when they lost the Area playoff game to the Abernathy Antelopes, 54-30.

The Bobcats, with Coach Colby Rives at the helm, was the first team in 16 years to make a playoff run that went to the Area level. The Dimmitt squad had a strong season and claimed the district and bi-district titles.

After a big send off, Dimmitt traveled to Wolfforth to play a determined Abernathy team, one they had previously beaten earlier in the season.

Starters for the Bobcats were Ivan Moreano, Emiliano Peralta, Daunte Perez, CJ Willey and Gabriel Ontiveros.

Dimmitt shot for 11/34 (32%) fields with 2/8 (25%) three-point shots; hit 6/13 (46%) free throws; collected two assists, five steals and three blocks.

Abernathy came in with 23/47 (49%) field goals, with 7/19 (37%) three-point shots; 1/7 (14%) free throws, 30 rebounds, nine assists, seven steals and two blocks.

Shooters for Dimmitt were Ivan Moreno with eight points, five defensive rebounds and two fouls; Emiliano Peralta, seven points, one offensive and defensive rebound, one steal, one block and two fouls; Gabriel Ontiveros, six points, two offensive rebounds, one defensive rebound, one assist, two steals, one block and one foul; Dante Perez, four points, two defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block; CJ Willey, two points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, one steal and two fouls; Luke Settle, two points and one defensive rebound; Jordan Garcia, one point and one offensive rebound. Marcelo Lopez had two defensive rebounds.

Coach Rives and the Bobcats close out their season with a 20-10, 9-3 record for the season.
