The Dimmitt Bobcats lost a district game to the Friona Chieftains this past Friday, 5621.

Dimmitt came in with the only touchdown in the first quarter on a 5-yard run from QB Jack Lunsford to take a 6-0 lead.

The second quarter saw Lunsford score another touchdown on a 2-yard run with a 2-point conversion to widen the Bobcats lead to 14-0.

Friona offense went into action and came through with two touchdown and one 2-point conversion to tie the game 1414.

A third touchdown put the Chieftains in the lead as the first half closed 21-14.

In the fourth quarter, Friona added another four touchdowns and conversion points, to widen their lead over Dimmitt, 49-14.

In the final period, Bobcats Tony Salazar scored on a 63yard run with an extra point by Diego Santellano. The Chieftains answered with a final touchdown to give them the victory 56-21. Passing leader for Dimmitt was QB Jack Lunsford with eight completions of 18 attempts, and three interceptions. Lunsford scored two touchdowns on two separate runs.

Rushing leader was Tony Salazar with 232 yards on 30 attempts, and one touchdown.

Top receivers were Tony Salazar with two receptions for 46 yards; Vicente Soto with one reception for 30 yards; Blake Howell, three receptions for 24 yards; and Tradien Worsham, two receptions for 15 yards.

Defensive leaders were Isiah Sifuentez with three tackles and two assists; Vincente Soto, two tackles; Tony Salazar, one tackle; Diego Santellano, one tackle and two assists.

The Bobcats will travel to play Tulia this Friday.
