The Dimmitt Bobcats suffered a loss to the Brownfield Cubs on Friday night, 61-10.

The Bobcats got on the scoreboard in the first quarter with a 32-yard field goal to briefly take the lead, 3-0.

The Cubs answered with a 57-yard touchdown pass, followed by a touchdown on a 19yard pass and extra point, to push ahead of Dimmitt 13-3 at the close of the first quarter.

The Cubs dominated the second quarter with three touchdowns and three extra points, ending the first half of the game with a 41-3 lead over the Bobcats.

Dimmitt came in with a touchdown in the third quarter on a 35-yard pass by Sabian Martinez and extra point by Diego Santellano, putting the score at 41-10 at the end of the third period.

The Cubs took charge in the fourth quarter, scoring three more touchdowns and two extra points, to claim the victory, 61-10.

The Bobcats had 81 plays for a total 157 yards, 136 passing and 21 rushing, five turnovers/interceptions, and 12 penalties for 91 yards. Brownfield came in with 43 plays, 374 yards total, 274 passing, 100 rushing, two turnovers/interceptions, and eight penalties for 60 yards.

Top passer for the Bobcats was Sabian Martinez with nine completions of 25 attempts, 95 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions; followed by Daunte Perez with five completions of nine attempts, 34 yards and one interception.

Rushing leader was Gabriel Reyes with 10 attempts for 27 yards, followed by Mikey Rios with one attempt for two yards.

Top receivers were Diego Santellano with three receptions for 27 yards; Gabriel Reyes, two receptions for 19 yards; Will Van Zee, two receptions for 12 yards; and Alex Aguilar, one reception for five yards.

Leading in tackles was Gabriel Reyes with three tackles and one assist; Will Van Zee, three tackles, one sack and one TFL; Diego Santellano, two tackles; Sabian Martinez, one tackle and one assist; Alex Aguilar, one tackle; and Damian Arriaga, one tackle.

The Bobcats stand at 0-4 for the season and will face Highland Park on Sept. 23.
