Dimmitt had a tough homecoming game this past Friday, falling to Lubbock Roosevelt Eagles 56-6.

The Eagles got scoring underway in the first quarter with a touchdown on a 4-yard run and kick, putting them in the lead, 7-0.

The second quarter, Roosevelt scored another touchdown (kick no good), edging their lead to 13-0.

Dimmitt answered with a touchdown on a 5-yard run, closing the gap to 13-6.

The Eagles came back with 61-yard run and two-point conversion, pushing them ahead 21-6. They scored another touchdown on a 29-yard run and kick, closing the first half leading the Bobcats, 28-6.

The Eagles continued to make gains in both the third and fourth quarters, with the Bobcats failing to put more points on the scoreboard, ending the game with a Roosevelt victory, 56-6.

Dimmitt came in with 56 plays (130 yards and seven first downs) to Roosevelt’s 43 plays (437 yards and 17 first downs).

Dimmitt had two turnovers (one fumble and one interception) and 10 penalties for 91 yards.

Top passer for the Bobcats was Gabriel Ontiveros, with five completions of 12 attempts for 35 yards and one interception.

Leading the rushing was Gabriel Reyes with 13 rushes for 74 yards; and Gabriel Ontiveros with 12 rushes for 32 yards and one touchdown

Top tackler for Dimmitt was Damian Arriaga with two tackles and one assist; Gabriel Ontiveros with one tackle and one assist; Daunte Perez with one tackle; Gamaliel Vasquez with one tackle and two assists; and Joseph Silva with two assists.
