Bobcats fall to Lobos, 53-41

The Dimmitt Bobcats faced the Levelland Lobos in the first basketball game of the same and lost that contest, 53-41.

Levelland took charge in the first quarter and gained a seven-point lead over the Bobcats. The Bobcats outshot the Levelland team by six points in the second quarter to narrow the lead to 25-24 as the first half came to an end.

The third quarter, the Bobcats pushed out into the lead, 34-33. The Lobos offense charged into the fourth quarter to retake the lead and the victory 52-41.

The Bobcats came in with 13 of 43 field goal attempts, 10 of 14 free throws, 27 rebounds, eight assists, 12 steals, two blocks, and 20 fouls.

Top shooters for Dimmitt were Ivan Moreno with 12 points, one offensive rebound, six defensive rebounds, one assist, five steals and four fouls; Emiliano Peralta, 10 points, two defensive rebounds, two assists and three steals; and Devin Enrique, 10 points, one offensive and defensive rebound, one assist, one steal and two fouls.

Contributing shooters were David Fuentes, seven points, two offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, four assists and two fouls; Ariel Perez, two points, one defensive rebounds, one steal and five fouls.

Mario Lopez has two offensive rebounds, five defensive rebounds, one steal, two blocks and three fouls; Damian Arriaga, one offensive rebound; Daunte Perez, one defensive rebound and two fouls; and Frankie Cortez, one steal and one foul.
