Bobcats fall to Steers, 36-26

The Dimmitt Bobcats fell to the Farwell Steers, 36-26.

Farwell took a 14-8 lead over the Bobcats in the first quarter, with both teams scoring evenly in the second quarter, keeping the Steers on top going into halftime, 21- 15.

Farwell offense pushed another four points ahead of the Bobcats in the third quarter, widening their lead to 32-22.

Both teams scored four points in the fourth quarter, giving the Steers the victory over the Bobcats, 36-26.

The Bobcats hit 15 of 51 from the field at 29% and two of five free throws for 40%. The team collected 33 rebounds, five assists and 14 steals.

Top Bobcats’ shooters were Kobe Carpio with 11 points, two offensive and defensive rebound, three assists, one steal and two fouls; Acqtavian Baty with six points, five offensive rebounds, seven defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal, two blocks and two fouls; CJ Wiley with six points, two offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, one steal, two blocks and three fouls; Ivan Moreno with two points, two defensive rebounds, one assist and three fouls; Kaseson Melendez with one point; and Justice Velasquez with two defensive rebounds, one assist and one foul.
