Bobcats fall to Steers, 56-44

The Dimmitt Bobcats were defeated by the Farwell Steers, 56-44.

The first quarter, both teams came in with 10 points each, tying the score going into the second quarter. Dimmitt outshot the Steers by three points, putting them in the lead 26-23 going into halftime.

The third quarter, the Steers ramped up their offensive and took the lead 43-36 and continued to outshoot the Bobcats in the fourth quarter to take the win 56-44.

The Bobcats hit 17-of-46 field goals with 5-of-14 three-pointers; hit 5-of-9 free throws; collected 28 rebounds, eight assists, nine steals; and had 15 turnovers and 12 fouls.

Top shooters for the Bobcats were Ivan Moreno, 13 points, four defensive rebounds, two assists, one steal and three fouls; and CJ Willey, 11 points, three offensive rebounds, five defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and two fouls.

Contributing shooters were Emiliano Peralta, nine points, one offensive rebound, five defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and two fouls; Daunte Perez, five points, four defensive rebounds, three assists, three steals and one foul; Devin Enriquez, four points, one defensive rebound and one foul; and Ariel Perez, two points and one foul.

Mario Lopez had one offensive rebound, two defensive rebound, two blocks and one foul; William Van Zee had one defensive rebound and one steal; Damian Arriaga, one assist and one foul; and Frankie Cortez, one steal and one block.
