Bobcats lose to Golden Tornadoes

The Dimmitt Bobcats took a loss to the Lamesa Golden Tornadoes, 75-38.

The Bobcats offense struggled in the first quarter to put points on the board, with Lamesa taking the lead in the first quarter, 14-5 and extending it in the second quarter, closing the first half ahead 39-8.

The Bobcats battled in the second half, putting 16 points up in the third quarter and 14 points in the fourth quarter, but Lamesa held on to their wide lead, taking the victory.

The Bobcats hit 14 of 30 2-pointers, two of 19 3-pointers, four of 10 free throws, collected 10 offensive rebounds, 20 defensive rebounds, five assists, 10 deflections, six steals, with 24 turnovers and 10 fouls.

Top shots for Dimmitt were Mario Lopez with 12 points, four offensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds, three defetions and two fouls;Kaden Carpio, 10 points, two offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, two steals and one foul; Frankie Cortez, nine points, two offensive and defensive rebounds, three assists, four deflections and three fouls.

Contributing shooters were Tony Salazar with two points, two defensive rebounds, one assist and two steals; Keenan Hernandez, two points and one defensive rebound; Blas Cadena, two points; and Enrique Holguin, one point, five defensive rebounds and three fouls; Daegan Robertson came in with one defensive rebound, one assist, three defl ections, one block and one foul; Isiah Sifuentez, one steal; and Jaden Rodriguez, one steal.
