Bobcats lose to Wildcats

The Dimmitt Bobcats were edged out by the Idalou Wildcats on Tuesday, 43-40.

The Bobcats got off to slow shooting start in the first half scoring six points in the first quarter and seven in the second, giving the Wildcats a lead of 21-13 as the first half ended.

Shooting picked up in the second half for Dimmitt, but they were unable to gain the three points to close the lead, giving the Wildcats the win, 43-40.

The Bobcats hit for 18 of 41 field goals with one of 13 three-pointers, three of five free throws; collected 16 rebounds, four assists, nine steals, one block and had 14 turnovers and 16 fouls.

Top shots for Dimmitt were David Fuentes with 20 points, three offensive rebounds, one defensive rebound, two assists, four steals and two fouls; and Ivan Moreno, 10 points, one offensive rebound, one assist, three steals and three fouls.

Contributing shooters were Emiliano Peralta, five points, four defensive rebounds, two steals and two fouls; and Daunte Perez, five points, two defensive rebounds, one assist and three fouls.

Devin Enrique had two defensive rebounds and four fouls; Frankie Cortez, one defensive rebound and one foul; Ariel Perez, one defensive rebound; and Mario Lopez, one block and one foul.
