The Dimmitt Bobcats lost a close game to New Deal Lions, 52-49. New Deal was ranked 8th in the state at the time of the game.

The Lions gained a five-point lead in the first quarter, 13-8, and continued to widen the gap over the Bobcats in the second quarter, ending the first half with a 28-19.

The Bobcats came out battling in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions and narrowing their lead to38-35.

The fourth quarter saw both teams scoring 14 points, and giving the win to New Deal, 52-49.

The Bobcat hit 19 of 44 shots for 43%; five of 11 free throws for 45 percent; collected 29 rebounds; had 10 assists, nine steals and one block.

Top shots for Dimmitt were CJ Willey with 15 points, three defensive rebounds, two assists, four steals, one block and one foul; Acqtavian Baty with 14 points, five defensive rebounds, six defensive rebounds and two fouls; Kobe Carpio with 10 points, five defensive rebounds, five assists and four fouls; and Ivan Moreno with 10 points, three defensive rebounds, two assists, two steals and three fouls.

Contributing players were Daunte Perez with one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds and one assist; and Gabriel Ontiveros with one offensive and defensive rebound.
