The Dimmitt Bobcats competed at the Vega Basketball Tournament this past weekend and came home with consolation. The Bobcats were defeated by Amarillo River Road in the first round but came through with strong wins against Bovina and Panhandle.

Bobcats v River Road

The Dimmitt Bobcats narrowly fell to the Amarillo River Road Wildcats, 34-31.

The Bobcats shot for 11/47 (23%) with 2/20 3-pointers, 7/9 (78%) free throws, collected 28 rebounds, five assists, 12 steals and two blocks.

Top shot for Dimmitt was Emiliano Peralta with 10 points, six defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and three fouls.

Contributing shooters were Ivan Moreno, with seven points, four defensive rebounds, two steals and four fouls; CJ Willey, seven points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, one steal and one foul; Gabriel Ontiveros, three points, two offensive and defensive rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and three fouls; Raul Cadena, two points, two offensive and defensive rebounds, one steal, one block and three fouls; and Daunte Perez, two points two defensive rebounds, one steal and one foul.

Luke Settle had one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and two fouls; and Anthony Rodriguez, one offensive and defensive rebound and one steal.

Bobcats v Bovina

The Bobcats won their game against the Bovina Mustangs, 74-47.

Dimmitt shot 25/45 (56%) field goals with 11/23 (48%) 3- pointers, 13/21 (62%) free throws, collected 35 rebounds, 15 assists, five steals and one block.

Top shot for the Bobcats was Ivan Moreno with 32 points, one offensive rebound, six defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and three fouls.

Bobcats v Panhandle

The Bobcats defeated the Panhandle Panthers, 62-48.

The Bobcats shot 23/54 (43%) field goals with 5/20 (25%) 3-pointers, 11/16 (69%) free throws, collected 37 rebounds, had eight assists, 10 steals and five blocks.

Top shots for the Bobcats were Ivan Moreno with 20 points, one offensive rebound, five defensive rebounds, two assists, two steals and three fouls; and Emiliano Peralta, 10 points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, two assists, two steals and one foul.
