Bobcats top Chieftains, 67-40

The Dimmitt Bobcats defeated the Friona Chieftains 67-40.

The Bobcats gained a solid lead in the first quarter, 24-12, and the offense continue to hit in the second quarter, pushing the lead to 39-19.

Friona stepped their offensive push in the third quarter but fell short with Dimmitt continuing to outshoot the Chieftains, 55-29, The fourth quarter sealed a big win for the Bobcats, 67-40.

The Bobcats shot 44% (24/55) from the field; hit 47% (8/17) free throws; collected 35 rebounds, had 14 assists and 12 steals.

Top shots for the Bobcats were Ivan Moreno with 17 points, two steals, one offensive rebound and three fouls; CJ Willey with 12 points, three steals, three offensive rebounds, nine defensive rebounds, and one foul; Anthony Rodriguez with 11 points, one steal and one offensive rebound; Acquatvian Baty with 10 points, two steals, two offensive rebounds and six defensive rebounds; Daunte Perez with seven points, four assists, one offensive rebound and two defensive rebounds; Gabriel Ontiveros with six points, one assist, one steal and five defensive rebounds; Kobe Carpio with three points, four assists, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, and one foul; Kaeson Melendez with two points, one assist, one defensive rebound and one foul; and Jordon Garcia with one assist and one defensive rebound.
