Bobcats top Falcons, 53-40

The Dimmitt Bobcats scored a win against the Bushland Falcons, 53-40, this past Tuesday.

Bushland edged out in the lead about the middle of the first quarter until the Bobcats got warmed up and the offensive started sinking baskets and gaining the lead by two points at the end of the period, 13-10.

The second quarter, both teams were battling, with Dimmitt gaining a single point on their lead, 27-24 at the close of the first half.

Dimmitt offensive had a strong third quarter, widening their lead to 42-33. The fourth quarter gave them the victory over the Falcons, 5340.

The Bobcats came in with 23-of-48 field goals with 5-of-18 three pointers, and 2-of-3 free throws; 28 rebounds, seven assists, 10 steals, 16 turnovers, and 10 fouls.

Top shots for the Bobcats were CJ Wiley with 19 points, three offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, two steals and three fouls; and Ivan Moreno, 16 points, five defensive rebounds, five assists, two steals and two fouls.

Contributing shooters were David Fuentes with six points, three offensive and defensive rebounds, and three steals; Damian Arriaga, five points and one defensive rebound; Devin Enrique, three points and two offensive rebounds; Frankie Cortez, two points and one offensive and defensive rebound; and Mario Lopez, two points, one offensive and defensive rebound, and one steal.

Willam Van Zee collected one offensive and defensive rebound, one assist, one steal, and two fouls; Ariel Perez, one offensive rebound and three fouls.
