The Dimmitt Bobcats faced the Alpine Fightin’ Bucks on Tuesday evening and won the Bi-District championship, 72-47. The game was held in Denver City.

The Bobcats offense and defense dominated the first quarter, shooting for 21 points and holding Alpine to five points. Dimmitt continued to hold their ground in the second quarter, adding another 17 points to the score and ending the first half with a 38-14 lead.

The third quarter saw the Bobcats shoot for 13 points, with Alpine hitting for nine points, and the third quarter was a battle with both offenses scoring hits, but Alpine falling way short of closing the Dimmitt lead, 72-47.

Dimmitt shot for 27 of 66 (41%) field goals with eight of 34 three-pointers (24%), 10 of 15 free throws (67%), collected 39 rebounds, 15 assists, 14 steals, one block, 11 fouls and 17 turnovers.

Alpine shot for 18 of 52 (35%) with five of 20 three-pointers (25%), six of 12 free throws (50%), collected 30 rebounds, five assists, 11 steals, three blocks, 14 fouls and 26 turnovers.

Topshotsforthegame were Ivan Moreno with 20 points, two offensive rebounds, six defensive rebounds, six assists and two steals; Emiliano Peralta, 20 points, two offensive rebounds, six defensive rebounds, four assists, four steals and three fouls; and CJ Willey, 14 points, four defensive rebounds and two steals.

Contributing shooters were Devin Enrique, nine points, one offensive and defensive rebound, and one foul; Mario Lopez, three points, one defensive rebound, one steal, one block and one foul; David Fuentes, two points, five offensive and defensive rebounds, two assists and two fouls; Damian Arriaga, two points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, and two assists; and Frankie Cortez, two points, one offensive and defensive rebound, two steals and two fouls. Daunte Perez came in with one defensive rebound, one assist, three steals and two fouls.

The Bobcats will advance to the Area level and will play either Bushland or Abernathy.
