(Above) DHS senior Kaylee Lujan earned a ticket to the Regional track meet after placing third in the 200-meter dash. In addition to being a qualifier, Lujan also broke the DHS 200- meter school record at Area with a time of 26.25. The previous record was set in 1985 by S. Killingsworth with a time of 26.98. Lujan will be heading to the US Air Force upon graduation.
DHS Gabriel Reyes won first in pole vault at the Area meet and will be competing at the Regionals in Abilene.
DHS Alondra Velo placed fourth in the discus throw, qualifying her for the Regional meet.
DHS Adan Sanchez placed a qualifying third in the 800-meter run.
DHS Audrey Wooten placed third in pole vault and is headed to compete at Regionals.
DHS Azariah Gonzales is headed to Regionals after placing third in the 1600- and 3200-meter runs.
DHS Bradley Romo will compete at Regionals at placing fourth in long jump.
DHS Daunte Perez will travel to Abilene to compete in the Regional meet after placing third in triple jump.
DHS Gerardo Gonzalez placed second in shot put and will be competing in the Regional meet.
DHS Raul Cadena placed second in the discus throw at the Area meet and is headed for Regionals.

Dimmitt track and field athletes had a strong Area meet and will be sending 11 Bobbies and Bobcats to the Regional meet in Abilene in hopes of advancing to the Texas UIL State Meet.
