Dimmitt and Hart powerlifting teams competed at the Dimmitt Invitational Powerlifting Meet on Feb. 16.

The girls competition had 28 lifters from five schools.

Top Bobbies lifters in their weight divisions included Julia LaRue (123), first place; Jimena Fuentes (148), first place; Alexia Tarango (165), first place; Shaylagh. H. Lugo (165), second place; Maria Jaquez (181), first place; Daniela Alonzo (220), second place; and Jesimae Gamez (259), second place. The Bobbies placed first as a team.

Top Ladyhorns lifters in their weight divisions included Priscilla Gagnard (105), first place; Brizeth Soltero (123), second place; Brianna Nally (132), second place; and Mia Lopez (220), first place. The Ladyhorns placed third as a team.

Overall team placings: 1. Dimmitt, 2. Bovina, 3. Hart, 4. Friona, and 5. New Home.

In the boys competition, there were 38 lifters from four schools.

The top DHS lifters were Gabriel Reyes (148) in first place; Diego Santellano (148), second place; Lizandro Rocha (132), second place; Jordan Casas (181), first place; Victor Escobar (198), second place; and Jasiah Tavarez (242), second place.

The Dimmitt team place second overall.

Top Hart lifters were Braden Diaz (181), fourth place,andDravenDominguez (198), fourth place.

The Hart team placed fourth overall.

Team placings: 1. Friona, 2. Dimmitt, 3. New Home, and 4. Hart.
