DHS solid at Dimmitt Relays

Body

The DHS Bobcat Relays 2023 were held on March 23 at Bobcat Stadium, with six schools participating, including Dimmitt, Friona, Pampa, Amarillo SJC, Boys Ranch and Tulia.

All teams from DHS made a good showing at the meet.

Bobbies varsity athletes in the top three of their events included Odalis Morales (third/100 meter dash); Zoraya Ontiveros (third/800 meter run); Frida Madrigal (third/1600 and 3200 meter runs); Dimmitt A Relay, Jezlene Martinez, Rosalind Comparan, Zoraya Ontiveros, Caitlyn Olmos (first/4x400); Makayla Ramos Delgado (second/ high jump); Audrey Wooten (third/pole vault); Caitlynn Olmos (second/ triple jump); and Mariah Marmolejo (third/discus throw).

Girls varsity team placings respectively were Friona, Dimmitt, Boys Ranch, Tulia, Pampa and Amarillo SJC.

Bobbies junior varsity athletes staying in the top three of their events were Odalis Morales (third/1600 meter); Sarah Jennings (second/3200 meter); Dimmitt Relay A, Braylyn Chavira, Cierra Martinez, Phaith Herrera, Sarah Jennings (second/4x100 and 4x200); Madison House (second/pole vault); Sarah Jennings (second/long jump); Cierra Martinez (third/long jump); Victoria Hernandez (third/shot put); and Victoria Hernandez (first/discus throw).

Girls JV team placings overall were, respectively, were Friona, Dimmitt, Pampa, Boys Ranch, Amarillo SJC and Tulia.

Bobcats varsity placing in the top three of their events were Sabian Martinez (second/100 meter dash); Alejandro Chavez (second/100 meter dash); Xaden Vargas (third/400 meter run); Azariah Gonzalez (first/1600 and 3200 meter runs); Conler Willey (first/100 meter hurdles, second/300 meter hurdles, first/high jump, first/long jump); Dimmitt Relay A, Xaden Vargas, Tradien Worsham, Daunte Perez, Sabian Martinez (third/4x100 relay); Dimmitt A, Alex Aguilar, Xaden Vargas, Alejandro Chavez, Daunte Perez (4x200 relay); Dimmitt A, Xaden Vargas, Daunte Perez, Alejandro Chavez, Sabian Martinez (4x400 relay); Sabian Martinez (third/high jump); Damian Arriaga (third/pole vault); and Daunte Perez (first/triple jump).

Bobcats junior varsity athletes staying in the top three included Aiden Murrey (third/800 meter); Franisco Cortez (second/110-meter hurdles); Brandon Romo (third/110-meter hurdles); Dimmitt A, Cooper Furr, Adrik Bustos, Branden LaFuente, Isiah Sifuentez (third/4x100 and 4x400); and Francisco Gutierrez (third/pole vault).

Boys JV team placings respectively were Pampa, Friona, Dimmitt, Tulia, Amarillo SJC and Boys Ranch.

The is one more track meet on the school calendar at Brownfield on March 31, with the district meet is coming up fast in Denver City on April 13-14.
