The Dimmitt Bobcats played the Sunray Bobcats this past Friday and lost the contest, 50-6.

The first three quarters saw the DHS team struggling to gain yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, the Sunray team put 33 points on the scoreboard.

The fourth quarter, the Dimmitt squad put a single touchdown on the boards, but Sunray gained another 15 points to take a big win, 50-6 Dimmitt came in with a total of 63 plays/161 yards to Sunrays 55 plays/443 yards. Dimmitt had 120 passing yards and 41 rushing yards, one fumble and 11 penalties for 88 yards.

Top passers for Dimmitt were Sabian Martinez with 5of-9 completions for 61 yards; and Daunte Perez with 8-of-13 passes for 59 yards.

Lead rushers were Sabian Martinez with nine attempts for 29 yards; Daunte Perez, 10 attempts for 9 yards; and Gabriel Reyes, six attempts for 4 yards.

Daunte Perez was the top receiver with two receptions for 53 yards and one touchdown, followed by Damian Arriaga, two receptions for 7 yards; and Gabriel Reyes, one reception for 3 yards.

Gabriel Reyes also led in tackles with six and one assist; Daunte Perez, one tackle; Will Van Zee, one tackle and three assists; Vincente Soto, one tackle and one assist; Alex Aguilar, one tackle; Diego Santellano, one tackle; Tad Snitker, one tackle, one sack and TFL; Sabian Martinez, one assist; and Angel Catalan, one assist.

Dimmitt Bobcats have a 03 record thus far and will play against the Brownfield Cubs on Sept. 16 in an away game.
