Ladyhorns defeat Lady Longhorns, 40-27

The Hart Ladyhorns racked up a third game on a winning streak, beating the Lazbuddie Lady Longhorns, 40-27. Hart also defeated Amherst and Cotton Center as they make a push to clinch a spot in the playoffs.

The Ladyhorns edged ahead of the Lazbuddie team in the first quarter 12-10, and continue make gains in the second quarter, ending the first half leading 19-15.

The Hart offense stayed steady in the third quarter, widening their lead to 29-21, and claimed the victory in the fourth, 40-27.

Top shooter for the Ladyhorns was Elizabeth Herrera with 19 points, followed by Lauren Valdez with six points, Kryslynn Valdez with six points, Paizlie Reyna-Mata with six points, and Destinie Perez with three points.

The Ladyhorns next game on the schedule will against Anton on Jan. 15 and Amherst on Jan. 22.

The Ladyhorns are on a 3 game winning streak to finish the first round of district. Beating Amherst, Cotton Center and Lazbuddie... We are still to play some tough basketball the second round to try to clinch a spot in the playoffs...
