The Nazareth Swifts soundly defeated the Hartley Tigers in a conference matchup, 73-20, on Tuesday.

The Swifts drove out into the lead, 22-4, in the first quarter and continued pounding the boards I the second quarter to close out the first half, 44-6.

The Tigers continued struggling to gain some ground against the Swifts defense, but Nazareth offense widened the lead more in the third quarter, 56-10.

The fourth quarter finished off an easy win for the Swifts, 73-20.

Swifts’ field goal shooting was at 57% (31/54); free throws, 36% (5/14); and collected 11 offensive rebounds, 13 defensive rebounds, 14 assists and 18 steals.

Top shots for the Swifts were Kaden Cleavinger with 18 points two offensive and defensive rebounds, three steals and one foul; and Trent Gerber with 14 points, two assists, one offensive rebound, five defensive rebounds, four steals and two fouls.

Contributing shooters were Luke Betzen with nine points, two assists, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, four steals and one foul; Aidan Moore with nine points two assists, four offensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds and two steals; Carson Heiman with nine points, two assists and one defensive rebound; Tanner Birkenfeld with seven points, one assist and one steal; Derek Dyer with four points, one assist, two offensive rebounds and four steals; Luke Schulte with two points two assists, one defensive rebound and one foul; and Jayden High with one points, two assists and one foul.
