Former Oregon quarterback Tyler Shough is headed to Texas Tech University to join Red Raider football.

Shough, who entered the transfer portal earlier this month, announced he will be transferring to Texas Tech to continue his career.

The Pac-12 leader in passer efficiency (160.38) last season, Slough started seven games in 2020 for the Ducks and led them to a Pac 12 title and the Fiesta Bowl. In seven games he passed for 1,559 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions, and had 66 carries for 271 yards and two scores. Shough’s statistics regressed

Shough’s statistics regressed from November to December, leading to Anthony Brown taking a more prominent role in the Pac-12 Championship Game and Fiesta Bowl.

Shough was just 7 of 9 for 79 yards with a late interception in the Fiesta Bowl, which he started by going 3 for 3 for 41 yards but was benched in favor of Brown and didn’t reappear until late in the third quarter.

Shough is a former highly touted four-star recruit out of Arizona, ranked as the 140th best prospect in the 2018 class according to 247sports. Coming out of high school he chose Oregon over North Carolina, Michigan, and Alabama among other big power five schools.

The Chandler, Arizona native has three years of eligibility remaining.
