The Nazareth Swiftettes are into basketball season with a heavy schedule of competition. In addition to the regular games, they will be participating in the Whataburger Tournament in Fort Worth later in December.

Swiftettes v Canyon

The Nazareth Swiftettes fell to the Canyon Lady Eagles, 71-49.

Nazareth hit 14 of 31 field goals (45%), five of 10 3- pointers (50%), 16 of 21 free throws (76%), collected 19 rebounds, had nine assists, two steals and two blocks.

Presley Wheeler was the top shooter with 18 points, one defensive rebound, one assist and one foul; followed by Harley Gerber with 16 points two defensive rebounds, one block and three fouls.

Contributing shooters were MaKenzy Corrales with nine points, two offensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and two fouls; Tatum Peterson, five points, one offensive rebound, eight defensive rebounds, three assists and one block; and Bliss Betzen, one points, two defensive rebounds and one assist. Addie Dyer came in with two defensive rebounds, one assist and one foul; Caroline Myrick, one offensive rebound, two assists, one steal and one foul; and Caroline Myrick, one offensive rebound, two assists, one steal and one foul.

Swiftettes v Abernathy

The Nazareth Swiftettes defeated the Abernathy Lady Lopes, 46-38.

In the first quarter, Harley Gerber got Naz scoring going with a two-point shot, followed by a free throw, to put the Swiftettes in the lead, 3-0. Makenzy Corrales came in with a big three-pointer from 21 feet to widen the lead to 6- 0. Presley Wheeler score a two-point shot, followed by two points from Tatum Peterson, to extend the lead to 10-0. Abernathy finally got on the scoreboard with a free throw. Iris Schilderink sank a twopointer and Corrales came in with another three-point shot, to close the first period leading, 16-7.

The second quarter, Abernathy battled, out scoring Naz by two points, but not enough to close out the Swiftettes lead. Gerber hit a three-pointer, Addie Dyer, a two-point field goal, and Presley Wheeler, two free throws and two pointers, to end the first half leading, 24- 18.

The Naz offense bounced back in the third quarter, with Iris Schilderink scoring back-to-back 2-point shots early in the period. Peterson hit two 2- point field goals and three free throws; Addie Dyer added a 3- point field goal; and Corrales, two free throws.

The Swiftettes held onto their lead in the fourth quarter with shots from Gerber and Addie Dyer and claimed the win, 46-38.

The Swiftettes hit 16 of 60 field goals (27%), four of 19 three-point shots (21%), 10 of 14 free throws (71%), collected 35 rebounds, had 14 assists and seven steals.

Tatum Peterson led the Swiftettes’ scoring with nine points, three offensive rebounds, eight defensive rebounds and five assists; Makenzy Corrales had eight points, one offensive rebound, three defensive rebounds, one assist, five steals and five fouls; Harley Gerber, eight points, two defensive rebounds and four fouls; Addie Dyer, seven points, four defensive rebounds, and three assists; Iris Schilderink, six points, three offensive and defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and five fouls; Presley Wheeler, six points, one offensive and defensive rebound, two assists and three fouls; and Brooklyn Dyer, two points and one offensive rebound.

Caroline Myrick came through for three offensive rebounds, one defensive rebound, two steals and three fouls; and Bliss Betzen had one defensive rebound, one steal and two fouls.

Swiftettes v Denver City

The Swiftettes beat the Denver City Lady Mustangs, 61- 28.

Nazareth hit 22 of 57 field goals, (39%), five of 25 3- pointers (19%), 12 of 18 free throws (67%), collected 38 rebounds, had 19 assists, eight steals and three blocks.

Top shots were Tatum Peterson with 24 points, five offensive rebounds, seven defensive rebounds, three assists, two steals and three blocks; and Harley Gerber, 12 points, two offensive rebounds, six defensive rebounds, five assists and one steal.

Contributing shooters were Addie Dyer with eight points, one offensive rebound, one assist, two steals and one foul; Presley Wheeler with five points, three offensive rebounds, five defensive rebounds, six assists and one foul; Bliss Betzen, five points, two offensive and defensive rebounds, three assists and two steals; Caroline Myrick, four points, one offensive rebound, four defensive rebounds, one steal and one foul; and Brooklyn Dyer, three points and one assist.

Swiftettes v Clarendon

The Swiftettes beat the Clarendon Lady Broncos 58- 36

Nazareth hit 22 of 53 field goals (42%), with nine of 27 3- pointers (33%), five of six free throws (83%), collected 31 rebounds, had 16 assists and 13 steals.

Addie Dyer was top shooter with 17 points, two defensive rebounds two assists three steals and three fouls; followed by MaKenzy Corrales with 15 points, one offensive rebound two defensive rebounds three assists and four steals.

Contributing shooters were Iris Schilderink with nine points, four offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, one assist and three fouls; Harley Gerber, eight points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, two assists, two steals and two fouls; Tatum Peterson, four points, three offensive rebounds, five defensive rebounds, two assist and one fouls; Presley Wheeler, three points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, five assists and two steals; and Brooklyn Dyer, two points, two defensive rebounds and one foul. Caroline Myrick had one assist and two steals.

Swiftettes v Sands

The Nazareth Swiftettes lost an overtime game by a single point to the Sands Lady Mustangs, 43-42.

Nazareth hit 13 of 44 field goals (30%), five of 20 3- pointers (25%), 11 of 18 free throws (61%), collected 30 rebounds, and had four steals.

Top shots for the Swiftettes were Addie Dyer with 12 points, five offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and three fouls; and MaKenzy Corrales with 12 points, two offensive rebounds, six defensive rebounds, three steals and one foul.

Swiftettes v New Home

The Swiftettes lost a game to the New Home Lady Leopards, 58-32.

Nazareth hit 10 of 50 field goals (20%), two of 24 3- pointers, (8%), 10 of 17 free throws (59%), collected 31 rebounds, had six assists, three steals and one block.

Top shooter was Makenzy Corrales with 12 points, five offensive and defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal and three fouls.

Contributing shooters were Harley Gerber with seven points, one defensive rebound and two fouls; Tatum Peterson, five points, one offensive rebound, three defensive rebounds, one assist, one block and one foul; Addie Dyer, four points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, one assist and five fouls; Iris Schilderink, two points, three offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, two assists, one steal and two fouls; and Presley Wheeler, two points, one offensive rebound, three defensive rebounds, one assist and one foul.

Bliss Betzen came in with one offensive and defensive rebound; and Caroline Myrick with one steal.

Swiftettes v Hereford

The Nazareth Swiftettes claimed a solid win over the Hereford Lady Whitefaces, 42 -24.

The first quarter, Nazareth got on the scoreboard with two free throws by Tatum Peterson. Hereford came back and scored on two shots, to put them up 4-2, but Addie Dyer scored a two pointer to tie the game, 4-4. Hereford again took the lead on a free throw, but Tatum Peterson score two free throws, to regain the lead 6-5. Caroline Myrick added another two points before the first period ended, putting the Swiftettes at 8-5.

Heading into the second quarter, Herford collected a two-pointer, to narrow the lead Naz lead to 8-7, but Harley Gerber sank two free throws, to add to the lead 10-7. Gerber came back and scored a twopoint field goal, widening the lead to 12-7. MaKenzy Corrales added another four points on two field goals, 14-7. Tatum Peterson scored on a twopoint field goal and Iris Schilderink made two free throws, to widen the gap to 20- 9 as the first half ended.

The Swiftettes offense kept up the pressure in the third quarter. Peterson scored a twopointer, Gerber hit a free throw, Dyer scored on two free throws and a two-point shot, and Presley Wheeler scored two free throws, a three pointer and two pointer, to put the team in the lead 34-15 at the end of the period.

The fourth quarter, Gerber hit a two-point shot, three pointer and three free throws, giving the Naz squad the victory 42-24.

The Swiftettes hit 12 of 34 field goals (35%), two of 10 3- pointers (20%), 16 of 17 free throws (94%), came in with 18 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals.

Top shot for the Swiftettes was Harley Gerber with 13 points, one offensive and defensive rebound, one assist, one steal and one foul.

Bliss Betzen had one offensive rebound, one steal and one foul.
