Swiftettes take down Lady Rebels, 55-44

The Nazareth Swiftettes defeated the Amarillo Tascosa Lady Rebels (5A), 55-44.

The Swiftettes took an early 10-point lead over the Lady Rebels in the first quarter, putting them at 19-9.

Nazareth continued to hold the lead as Tascosa battled but gained only two points and were unable to close the gap by the end of the first half, putting the Swiftettes up at 32-24.

The Swiftettes hit the third quarter with the offense again outscoring Tascosa, widening the lead to 48-33.

The Lady Rebels were unable close the lead, giving the Swiftettes the win, 55-44.

The Swiftettes hit 17 of 45 from the field at 36%, 17 of 25 free throws for 68%, collected 32 rebounds, had 17 assists, seven steals and three blocks.

Top shots for the Swiftettes were Merry Gerber with 10 points, two offensive rebounds, four defensive rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block and four fouls; MaKenzy Corrales with nine points, three offensive and defensive rebounds, two assists, one steal and one foul; Addie Dyer with nine points, two offensive and defensive re bounds, and three assists; Tatum Peterson with eight points, five defensive rebounds, one assist, three steals, one block and one foul; Emma Kleman with six points, three offensive re bounds, two defensive rebounds, four assists, one steal and one foul; Presley Wheeler with five points, one offensive and defensive rebound, two assists, one steal and one foul; Jaden Pigg with four points, and one foul; Harley Gerber with two points, two defensive rebounds and one foul; and Iris Schilderink with two points and two defensive rebounds.
