The Nazareth Swiftettes claimed a win over the Happy Cowgirls, 57-31, clenching the district title.

The Swiftettestook the lead in the first quarter over the Cowgirls, 11-2 and continued to outscore Happy in the second quarter, to close the first half 29-9.

Nazareth maintained and widened their lead in the second half to chalk up another win.

The Swiftettes hit 17 of 28 2-point shots, four of 14 3-pointers, 11 of 18 free throws, had 19 assists, six offensive rebounds, 16 defensive rebounds, 10 steals, 25 deflections, seven turnovers and 16 fouls.

Top shooters were Brooklyn Birkenfeld, with 24 points, four assists, six defensive rebounds, six deflection, one steal and three fouls; and Harley Gerber, 14 points, five assists, two offensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds, three deflections, three steals, and two fouls.

Contributing shooters were Tatum Peterson, eight points, five assists, one defensive rebound, two deflections and two fouls; Riley Ramaekers, five points, five points, one offensive rebound, three defensive rebounds, three defl ections, one steal and two fouls; Brooklyn Dyer, three points, one assist, one offensive rebounds, two deflections and two fouls; Clementine Myrick, two points, two deflections and one steal; and Chloe Birkenfeld, one point, one deflection, one steal and one foul.

Maddie Brockman had two assists, one offensive rebound, two deflections and two steals; Emerson Moore, two assists, four deflections, one steal and three fouls; and Kattey Gerber, one defensive rebound.

The Swiftettes head into the playoffs - undefeated in district - and will face the Hartley Lady Tigers at Tascosa High School for the bi-district championship. The team closes the regular season out with a 14-9, 9-0 record as they move into the playoffs.
