Swifts defeat Bobcats, 39-36

The Nazareth Swifts defeated the Dimmitt Bobcats in an in-county game, 39-36.

The Bobcats took the lead in the first quarter by eight point, 13-5, but the Swifts offensive came back in the second quarter, to narrow the Dimmitt lead to 15-14 at the close of the first half.

Nazareth continued to outshoot the Bobcats in the third quarter, taking the lead, 23- 21

Ṫhe fourth quarter continued a battle for dominance, ending with a tied game, 34- 34, sending play into overtime.

The Swifts came out on top and won the contest 39- 36

Ṫop shooters for the Swifts were Carsen Heiman with 12 points, three assists, one defensive rebound and two steals; Kaden Cleavinger with nine points, seven assists, six offensive rebounds, eight defensive rebounds and two fouls; Derek Dyer with six points, one offensive rebound, two steals and three fouls; Jayden High with four points, one offensive rebound, one defensive rebound, one steal and four fouls; Luke Schulte with three points, two assists and two defensive rebounds; Aidan Moore with three points, two offensive and defensive rebounds, and two fouls; Trent Gerber with two points, three offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds and two fouls; and Luke Betzen with one assist, one defensive rebound and four fouls.

Top shooters for the Bobcats were Acqtavian Baty with 11 points, one assist, one steal, one block, three offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds and three fouls; CJ Wiley with 10 points, three defensive rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and four fouls; Ivan Moreno with seven points, one assist, two defensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds and three fouls; Kobe Carpio with six points, one assist, one steal, four offensive rebounds, five defensive rebounds and two fouls; Justice Velasquez with two points, one assist, one steal, one offensive and defensive rebound, and one foul; and Jose Garcia with two defensive rebounds, one assist and one steal.
