The Nazareth Swifts scored a big win over the Claude Mustangs, 50-0.

The Swifts came in with 13 first downs, 20 rushes for 201 yards, four attempts/completions on receptions for 98 passing yards, five penalties for 45 yards, three sacks and 32 tackles.

Nazareth got things rolling in the first quarter on a Will Young pass to Brett Heitschmidt, who scored and then added two extra points to put the Swifts into the lead. Will Young then scored on a 54-yard rush, with Heitschmidt adding two more extra points, to end the quarter, 16-0 in the lead.

The second quarter saw the Swifts continue to gain points on the scoreboard. Will Young rushed 37 yards for another touchdown, followed by a Kayle Rodgers touchdown on a 26-yard pass from Young, and extra points from Heitschmidt, to put Naz up 300.

Tell Bagley scored on a 1yard rush, with extra points from Heitschmidt, followed by a 1-yard rush from Luke Schulte for a touchdown, to close the first half out with the Swifts leading, 44-0.

The third quarter, Young scored again on a 1-yard rush, giving Nazareth a final score and victory, 50-0.

Rushing leaders for Nazareth were Will Young with five rushes for 114 yards and three touchdowns; Sterl Welps, six rushes for 46 yards; Alejandro Guerrero, four rushes for 38 yards; Luke Schule, four rushes for two yards and one touchdown; and Tell Bagley, one rush for 1 yard and a touchdown.

Passing leader for Naz was Will young with four completions of four attempts for 98 yards.

Top receivers for the Swifts were Caysen High with one reception for 32 yards; Kayle Rodgers, one reception for 26 yards and a touchdown; Sterl Welps, one reception for 25 yards; and Brett Heitschmidt one reception for 15 yards and a touchdown.

Defensive leaders for Nazareth were Sterl Welps with eight tackles; Kayle Rogers, seven tackles, 0.5 sacks; Will Young, 4.5 tackles; Brett Heitschmidt, 4.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks; Tanner Birkenfeld, two tackles and two interceptions; Tell Bagley, two tackles; and Caysen High and Alejandro Guerrero, each with 0.6 tackles.

The Swifts will face Wildorado on Nov. 4 in the final regular season district game and are expected to enter the playoffs. As of this writing, Happy is ranked #1 (8-1, 2-0); Nazareth #2 (7-2, 1-1); Claude #3 (4-5, 1-1); and Wildorado #4 (1-8, 0-2)
