Swifts defeat Cowboys, 45-33

The Nazareth Swifts came out on top against the Happy Cowboys, 45-33.

The Swifts took the lead in the first quarter, 15-7, and maintained the lead through the second quarter to close out the first half, 22-16.

Nazareth offense continued to gain on the Cowboys in the third quarter, 35-21, and scored the win in the fourth quarter.

The Swifts hit 17 of 41 field goals with five of 18 three-pointers, six of 13 free throws, collected 29 rebounds, two blocks, one steal and four fouls.

Top shots for Nazareth were Kayle Rogers with 12 points, two offensive rebounds, three defensive rebounds and one foul; and Carson Heiman, 11 points, four defensive rebounds and one foul.

Contributing shooters were Sterl Welps, nine points, four offensive rebounds and four defensive rebounds; Tanner Birkenfeld, six points, four defensive rebounds, one block and one foul; Creed Hochstein, three points, one offensive rebound and two defensive rebounds; and Caysen High, four points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, and one foul. Reid Backus had two defensive rebounds and one block.
