The Nazareth Swifts fell to the Spearman Lynx by a single point in a tough battle, 39-38.

The Swifts pushed out ahead in the first quarter, 19-9, and the Lynx battled to close the lead in the second quarter, with the first half ending with a Swifts’ lead 23- 17.

The Lynx offense pushed to gain a four-point lead in the third quarter, 32-29, and the Swifts attempted to overcome the narrow lead, but lost by a single point in the fourth quarter at the sound of the buzzer.

Nazareth sank nine of 19 2-point shots, four of 15 3-pointers, eight of 15 free throws, had eight offensive rebounds, 13 defensive rebounds, two steals, 13 fouls and 18 turnovers.

Top shots were Creed Hockstein with 15 points, two defensive rebounds and three fouls; and Caysen High, 11 points, four defensive rebounds, one steal and three fouls.

Contributing shooters were Max Snead with five points, three offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds; Reid Backus, three points, five offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds and one foul; Slaton Harkins, three points, two defensive rebounds and three fouls; and Zane Schulte, one point, one defensive rebound and one steal.
