The Nazareth Swifts lost their bout against the O’Donnell Eagles, 44-33 last Friday.

The Eagles scored the first touchdown of the game in the second quarter, with Nazareth answering with a Zane Schulte touchdown on a 4-yard rush and extra points by Will Young, putting Naz up 8-6.

O’Donnell scored again and added extra points to take the lead, 14-8.

Schulte scored again on a 3-yard rush, with Daniel Schacher scoring on a 7-yard pass from Slaton Harkins to again take the lead 15-14.

The third quarter, O’Donnell rolled in with a touch down and extra points to take the lead 22-15.

Nazareth bounced back the with Schacher touchdown on a 76-yard pass from Will Young, to put the Swifts behind by a single point, 22-21.

The Eagles scored, pushing their lead to 30-21 before Schulte came in with a touchdown on a 52-yard rush, bringing the score to 30-27.

The Eagles added another touchdown before the period ended, putting Nazareth behind 36-27.

O’Donnell scored a touchdown with extra points in the fourth quarter and Nazareth added a touchdown on a 1-yard rush.

O’Donnell took the win over the Swifts 44-33.

Nazareth had 16 first downs, 35 rushes for 156 yards; 11 receptions of 16 attempts for 162 passing yards; 26 tackles; one interception for a touchdown; and five penalties for 41 yards.

Rushing leaders were Zane Schulte with 26 for 137 yards and three touchdowns; Alejandro Guerrero, five rushes for 36 yards; and Kayle Rogers for one touchdown.

Passing leader was Will Young with 11 completions of 16 attempts for 162 yards.

Top receivers were Daniel Schacher with one reception for 76 yards; Reid Backus, two receptions for 33 yards; Kayle Rogers, two receptions for 31 yards; and Zane Schulte, five receptions for 22 yards.

Defensive leaders were Will Young, 6.5 tackles; Zane Schulte, four tackles; Brody Kimball, four tackles and 1.5 sacks; Kayle Rogers, three tackles; Alejandro Guerrero, 2.5 tackles; Reid Backus, two tackles; Caysen High, 1.5 tackles and 0.5 sacks; and Slaton Harkings, 0.5 tackles.
