Swifts victorious over Tigers

The Nazareth Swifts came in with a big homecoming game win against the Groom Tigers, 65-16.

Nazareth came in with 16 first downs, 27 rushes for 255 yards, five completed passes in eight attempts for 113 reception yards.

Swifts leading the rushing were Zane Schulte with 14 rushes for 190 yards and six touchdowns; Alejandro Guerrero, nine rushes for 44 yards and two touchdowns; Kayle Rogers, three rushes for 17 yards; and Will Young, one rush for 4 yards.

Passing leaders were Will Young with three completions in four attempts for 57 yards and one touchdown; and Zane Schulte with two completions in four attempts for 56 yards.

Top receivers for Nazareth were Reid Backus with two receptions for 54 yards and one touchdown; Will Young, one reception for 36 yards; Owen Dyer, one reception for 15 yards; and Kayle Rogers, one reception for 8 yards.

Alejandro Guerrero came through with five of seven PAT attempts.

Defensive leaders for the Swifts were Zane Schulte with 6.5 tackles and two interceptions for 44 yards; Will Young, five tackles and one interception; Brody Kimball, 3.5 tackles and one sack; Alejandro Guerrero and Kayle Rodgers, each with three tackles; Reid Backus, two tackles; and Slaton Harkins with one sack.
