Week of September 28, 2026 I came to Dallas last weekend to stay with the girls while Jonna is in Orlando for a work trip. The morning that I left Tulia, it was in the 70’s. The drive was very nice. It was so great to have some relief from the hot weather that we have been having.

A regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Tulia Independent School District was held on September 21, 2026 in the Swinburn Board Room. No public comments were heard.A public hearing on Senate Bill 12 was held. Senate Bill 12 is about parental rights.

The best news I can report is that I had rain at my house this week. I know that south and east of me there was some severe hail. That is unfortunate for those farmers who are struggling anyway because of the drought we have had this summer. Weather in our area is very unpredictable.

Swisher County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shots fired call on Wednesday morning in the area of NW 10th Street and North Donley. The Tulia Police Department and Texas Ranger assisted with the investigation. It is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
