TVFD Responds to Fire in Kress

On Saturday, March 21, TVFD was dispatched to FM 145 and CR 25 in Kress for a grass fire.There were structures threatened, but all structures were saved from fire involvement with the exception of a single uninhabited chicken coop. The fire burned an estimated total of 100 acres.

Swisher County Employees and their Families have been participating in the Walk Across Texas Challenge over the past eight weeks. The members of the four teams walked 5204.74 miles which is more than six times across Texas! Individual team total were All Rise! Yeast Beast – 1437.48, Extension of Greatness – 1432.65, Justice Team – 1298.94, and Clerkie Bees – 1034.67. Congratulations to the All Rise! Yeast Beasts team for being the 2026 Champions!
