Memorial Day Tribute to Louie Edwards

On Memorial Day, tine Tulia community gathered at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1798 to honor the nation’s fallen heroes in a moving program that beautifully bridged sacrifice and community. The playing of Lee Greenwood’s, “God Bless the USA” opened this year’s program.

Happy Cemetery Association hosted a Memorial Day Service at the Happy Community Center on Memorial Day. Jim McManigal welcomed guests and introduced Happy 4-H Members Lynnlea Johnson and Hudson Butler who led the Pledge to the United States and Texas flags.

Tulia VFW Post 1798 and Auxiliary were assisted by the Tulia Volunteer Firefighters to place flags on the veterans’ graves at Rose Hill Cemetery.Flags are place beside the headstones of each service member buried in Rose Hill Cemetery before Memorial Day.
