Naz XC girls place 4th at state meet

The Nazareth girls XC team competed at the Texas UIL Cross Country State 1A competition this past weekend at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. There were 146 runners in the 2M Split.The Naz team placed fourth overall with an average time of 13:45.5.

Castro County vets to be honored

Veterans Day in Dimmitt will see area Castro County former and president military men and women honored for their service and sacrifice to their country on Nov. 11.Throughout Dimmitt, the Rotary Club will placing American flags at businesses and government offices.

State sales tax revenue $4.01B

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced state sales tax revenue totaled $4.01 billion in October, 5.4 percent more than in October 2023.The majority of October sales tax revenue is based on sales made in September and remitted to the agency in October.

The DHS Robotics teams attended a scrimmage at Marcus High School in Flower Mound on Oct. 19. DHS has the only teams from the West Texas region participating, with other teams from the Dallas and Houston areas.
The Dimmitt High School Spanish Club participated in the Día de los Muertos ofrenda event at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon. The students created an alter that honors loved ones and celebrates the Mexican tradition.
