USPS increases holiday shipping costs

The U.S. Postal Service filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) regarding a temporary price change for some package services for the 2024 peak holiday season.This temporary price adjustment is to help cover extra handling costs to ensure a successful peak season.

The arrival of November brings an uptick in activities to engage in prior to the holidays. Here at Rhoads Memorial Library, events are planned for people of all ages.Wednesday, Nov. 13, is the date set for Dimmitt Book Club’s meeting, when Barbara Britton of Brownfield will be the guest speaker.
Six Nazareth Ag students earned the TCFA Machinery Operation, Maintenance, and Repair certification after two full days of training. The group was tested on their knowledge of wheel-loader and skid-loader operation, proper lockout-tag-out procedures, arc welding, oxy-fuel cutting and bending and interview with industry professionals. The certification course was sponsored by WTAMU and Texas Cattle Feeders Association.

District 2 4-H Food Challenge – Castro 4-H Intermediate Team 1, Brystol Burks, Drew Bennett, Gemma Polhmeier and Adaleiye Birkenfeld, placed 1st in Intermediate Healthy Dessert 1.
