Castro County Farm Bureau hosted their annual County Convention on Oct. 21 at the Castro County Expo Building. Farm Bureau members in attendance were treated to a BBQ meal and door prizes. Election of officers was held and new business for the year discussed. WTAMU Horse Judging wins Arabian Nationals

West Texas A&M University’s Horse Judging team notched another victory in a recent contest in Tulsa, Oklahoma.The WT team was named champion and placed first in both halter and performance at the Arabian National Horse Judging Contest on Oct. 25.

Swifts topple Kress Roos

The Nazareth Swifts came in with a win against the Kress Roos, 50-34.Nazareth had 13 downs, with 26 rushes for 206 yards, three passing completions of nine attempts for 70 yards, 38 tackles, two fumbles, and five penalties for 52 yards.
Nazareth Swiftettes Cross Country placed fourth at the Regional meet in, qualifying them to advance to state competition in Round Rock on Nov. 2. Team members include Mallory Wilhelm, Jolee Pigg, Bridget Osterkamp, Kelsie Gunter, Zeli Olivas and Allie Pittillo.

West Texas A&M University’s Horse Judging team scored another reserve championship at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress in Ohio.The WT team placed second overall, second in performance, second in reason and fourth in halter at the contest, held Oct. 16 in Columbus, Ohio.
