Nazareth ISD joined an elite group of schools across the United States when it was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School.

Changes coming to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), will be in place beginning Oct. 1, including new maximum benefit amounts.SNAP is designed to help low-income people and families pay for groceries.

NISD trustees call for bond election

The Nazareth Independent School District Board of Trustees has called for a $2.15 million Bond Election on Nov. 5 to fund instructional facilities construction, renovations, repairs, and upgrades.

UT Austin lowers auto admissions

The University of Texas at Austin reported it will be cutting down the number of top Texas high school students automatically admitted to UT from 6 percent to 5 percent in 2026.

Bobcats fall to Olton, Bovina

The Bobcats put up a good battle against the Bovina Mustangs.Dimmitt had a total of 63 plays for 210 yards, with 159 passing and 51 rushing yards, 13 first downs, one fumble and eight penalties for 55 yards.The Bobcats scored two points on a safety in the first quarter to take the lead.

The Nazareth Swifts overwhelmed the Silverton Owls and scored a big win 54-0 on Sept. 12.The Swifts scored 27 points in the first quarter., to take the lead 27-0.
