The Nazareth FFA Homesite Team scored a big win at the Ochiltree County Soil and Water Conservation District #142 competition. Nazareth was named the champion team at their first outing of the season, with Caysen High winning high individual, Harrison Meador, second high individual, Max Snead, fifth place, and Oliver Meador participating.

SB 4 battle continues in appeals court

In a back-and-forth legal battle over a Texas law, SB 4, that would allow state law enforcement to arrest people suspected of illegally crossing the Texas-Mexico border, an order was issued by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals blocking the law from taking effect just hours after the U.S.
Dimmitt High School senior Na’Khiyah Porras competed at the THSWPA 3A DII State Championships and placed second in the 220-weight division with a total weight of 1,010 pounds. (BWT – 216 ; Squat – 360; Bench Press – 225 ; Dead Lift – 425). Porras also earned the Outstanding Deadlift Award in Class 3A. Other Dimmitt lifters competing at state were Jesimae Gomez, Rosalinda Comparan, Shaylagh Henriquez, Samara Smith, Estreya Rubio and Yadira Esqueda. The team is coached by Ruby Romero.
