Abbott expands Special Session

Governor Greg Abbott on Tuesday issued a proclamation expanding the Special Session #3 agenda for universal school choice to include additional school finance, such as teacher pay raises, school safety, and special education.

Bobcats defeat Hornets, 43-27

The Dimmitt Bobcats came through with a big win over the Tulia Hornets last Friday, 43-27. As the first quarter got underway, Tulia got on the scoreboard first, taking the lead, but Dimmitt’s Diego Santellano scored on a 69yard punt return to tie the game, 7-7.
The Dimmitt Cross Country teams finished their season competing at the Region 1 3A meet held at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock this past Monday. The teams were coached by Jason Ayala and Haley Bonila.

Castro 4-H youth honored

Castro County 4-H Spencer Acker was presented the Gold Star Award at the District 2 66th annual Gold Star Banquet in Lubbock on Oct. 23. The Gold Star Award is the highest achievement award given by the Texas 4-H Youth Development Program through the county 4-H Program.
