State sales tax revenue $3.8B in September

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.79 billion in September, 2.8 percent more than in September 2022. The majority of September sales tax revenue is based on sales made in August and remitted to the agency in September.

Naz FFA to hold lamb jackpot, clinic

The Nazareth FFA will be holding its Lamb Jackpot and Clinic on Oct. 19. The event is limited to FFA and 4-H members. The scales will open at 7:30 a.m. and weight cards are due by 9 a.m. The clinic will be from 9 to 10 a.m. with showmanship classes for junior, intermediate and senior participants.

The Nazareth Swifts lost their bout against the O’Donnell Eagles, 44-33 last Friday. The Eagles scored the first touchdown of the game in the second quarter, with Nazareth answering with a Zane Schulte touchdown on a 4-yard rush and extra points by Will Young, putting Naz up 8-6.
