South Plains Fair underway

The Panhandle South Plains Fair is drawing crowds for fun and events through Sept. 30 in Lubbock. Open and Junior livestock competition began this past Saturday with the arrival of cattle, pigeons, poultry, lambs, goats, sheep, rabbits and swine and will continue through the week.
The Wok Thai and Chinese Restaurant hosted a fundraiser on Sept. 15 for the Dimmitt Athletic Booster Club, donating 15% of dinner sales towards the yearend scholarships. The Wok, formerly Somboune’s and recently opened under its new name, is owned by the Sisomphou family.
