State sales tax $3.9B in June

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $3.92 billion in June, 6.8 percent more than in June 2022. The majority of June sales tax revenue is based on sales made in May and remitted to the agency in June.

Team Roping Champs

After one date reset and relocation due to weather obstacles, the Olen Schulte Memorial Team Roping was held on July 7 at Will Rogers Range Riders arena in Amarillo. Team Roping Champions were Troy McDonald (Header) and Kagen Pillars (Heeler). The event had over $9,000 in payouts.

Dimmit Chamber golf tourney set Aug. 12

The Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce is already gearing up their annual golf tournament, set for Aug. 12 at Dimmitt Recreation and Country Club.
The event will feature a four-person scramble at $400 per team and includes a meal, drink tickets, two mulligans per golfer and one raffle ticket per golfer.
