Parents across the country are getting fed up with “woke” policies and indoctrination being shoved into the schools. Many are challenging school boards with books being pushed into the system that would have been considered pornography in the past.

Luckily, I’ve got a little home office. It’s a place I can go sleep after my morning coffee. On Monday I had lots of time on my hands, so I took an online test to gauge my maturity level. It said I was “childish, obnoxious, and apathetic.” It said some other stuff, but I didn’t care.

We are fortunate to have a Library Advisory Board here at Rhoads Memorial Library who dispenses wise words of wisdom when the occasion calls for it. The five-member board of volunteers is filled by three Dimmitt residents, one Hart resident, and one Nazareth resident.

County 4-H Horse Judging results

Castro County 4-H Junior Horse Judging teams had a good run in competition on Friday. Castro County #2 Second Place Team Gracie McLain, Trystan Crow, Reagan Schulte and Blakely Kleman. Castro County #3 Third Place Team - Adalyn Braddock, Steeley Moore, Sawyer Lunsford and Braeli Fuller.

Nazareth FFA Tell Bagley made it to the next round of interviews in the Texas FFA scholarship process this week. The Texas FFA Association awards more than $1 million in scholarships annually that recognize members’ academic accomplishments as well as participation in FFA programs and activities.
