HPWD continues measuring water wells

High Plains Water District has been measuring water levels since Jan. 3 and has 1,289 well measured thus far with 90 wells to go. HPWD field technicians have been busy with the annual observation well measurements, with some still in use when first visited. Those will be rechecked.
The Meadors came in with great scores at the San Antonio Stock Show Junior Shootout this past weekend. Remington, 7th grader/Castro 4-H, had his personal high scores in his age group; Oliver, 8th grader/Castro 4-H, was one bird shy of the top five shooters in his age group; and Harrison, Naz FFA, won the Champion Junior Shootout title in his age group, as well a $10,000 scholarship.

The Nazareth Swiftettes had a strong start into the playoffs with a Bi-District win over the Pringle-Morse Cougars, 83-16. The Swiftettes dominated the game from the first tip off to the final buzzer, pushing out front for a 36-point lead in the first quarter.

The Nazareth Swifts, nearing the end of the regular season, clenched a close conference win against the Happy Cowboys, 31-27. Happy took the lead in the first quarter, 8-3, but the Swift took a two-point lead in the second quarter to end the first half 15-13 over the Cowboys.

The Dimmitt Bobcats finished off their regular season with games against the Littlefi eld Wildcats and Muleshoe Mules and will be entering the playoffs. Bobcats v Littlefield The Dimmitt Bobcats fell to the Littlefield Wildcats, 60-54.

DHS, HHS compete at Levelland Meet

Dimmitt and Hart powerlifting teams competed at the Levelland Invitational Powerlifting Meet this past weekend. The girls competition had 104 lifters from 14 schools, and the boys competition had 131 lifters from 15 schools.
