Classes teaching English as a second language (ESL) began here at Rhoads Memorial Library on Oct. 6, and will continue each Thursday from 7-9 p.m. There is a possibility for the class to be expanded to Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m.; call leader Gloria Hernandez at 806-240-7611 for details.

Estate planning program set Oct. 19 in Silverton

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer a Farm/Ranch Business Entities and Estate Planning event on Oct. 19 in the Silverton Library, 405 Broadway in Silverton, for anyone who wants to attend. The program will begin with registration at 10:30 a.m., followed by the program from 11 a.m.

Two DISD students participated in a CAST for Kids event this past weekend at Buffalo Springs Lake. Danny Prieto and Josiah Rector of Dimmitt, participated in a recent event. Both students had a great time and brought their families along for a great fishing experience.
