As some are aware, the grocery inserts are disappearing in newspapers and customers are being forced online to retrieve any savings on their shopping. This is happening at community newspapers across the Texas Panhandle and state. The problem - customers are not happy about it.

Many male friends tell me, “I am losing my hair. What can I do about it?” I suggest they do what I did… get rid of your mirror. But seriously, I understand their plight. I still shed mountains of hair daily, much of it from the head. So, here’s my question: is your hair really receding?

State Representative Ken King will be touring a segment of District 88 to discuss the upcoming 88th Regular Session of the Texas Legislature. King will be at the Dimmitt City Hall on Oct. 6 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m..

CCH to hold Health Fair, Oct. 7

Castro County Healthcare will be hosting the Castro County Health Fair on Oct. 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Expo Center. There will be food trucks, a farmer’s market, giveaways, local vendors, blood drive and lots of other things to experience.

Nominations being accepted for Chamber awards

The Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for Citizen of/through the Years and Agricultural Family of the Year. The awards will be presented at the Chamber Annual Banquet set for Jan. 21, 2023.

The Dimmitt Bobcats suffered a loss to the Brownfield Cubs on Friday night, 61-10. The Bobcats got on the scoreboard in the first quarter with a 32-yard field goal to briefly take the lead, 3-0.
